This ongoing project is in memory of my precious wife Laura, who went home to be with Jesus in June 2020. She loved the Lord, loved music and had the voice of an angel.

I never expected to start this songwriting project. I am not a musician. I promise that you don’t want me to sing. I never considered myself to be (or to become) a songwriter…with one small exception about 30 years ago.
 
In 1994, the Lord gave me the beginning of a song called “Whitewashed Tombs” taken from Matthew 23, but never gave me the words to finish it or told me what to do with it. So for the past 30 years, I’ve frequently sung this song in my head, but had no idea what to do with it or what would become of it. I still don’t know.

Fast-forward to August 2024. I’d been intimately familiar with the beginning of this song for the past 30 years, and suddenly I felt the Lord telling me it was time to finish it and prepare for its publication. As of this writing, I have only a vague notion of who the artist may be that might record it, but as the Lord began nudging me to move forward with finishing this song, I bought a laptop that I set aside exclusively for songwriting, and I started praying. As of this writing almost six months later, I  currently have more than 30 songs in various stages of completion with absolutely no idea about what will happen, but that’s OK with me, because about six months ago, all I did was follow the Lord’s instruction to me to finish writing this first song He had given me. I have no idea what is next. I can only follow the Scriptural mandate to walk by faith, not by sight. If the Lord is telling you to do the same thing, whatever the situation in your life, do what He is telling you to do, and don’t be afraid.
